Hi, I’m Charlie Bonnin.

Singing has been part of my life since I was 10 months old, matching pitch with my mother and growing up surrounded by music from a multi-generational family of singers and musicians. With music embedded in my being, I first took to the stage at age six, which led to a lifelong journey in performance and teaching. I hold a BFA in Performing Arts with a concentration in Musical Theater from Emerson College, and my stage career has included lead roles such as Frank Sheppard in Merrily We Roll Along by Stephen Sondheim, Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors by Alan Mencken and Howard Ashman, Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Currently, I am the lead vocalist for Wake Up Mama, an Allman Brothers tribute band, and perform as part of the ensemble for Higher Ground, a Stevie Wonder tribute band in the Portland, Maine area. These musical endeavors continue to fuel my love for performance and inspire my teaching. Since 2021, I have also been working internationally as a self-produced session singer and top-line writer, broadening my experience and creative reach.

My passion for teaching began in 2008 while volunteering at Kalani Oceanside Retreat in Hawaii, where I offered private lessons and harmonizing workshops. This experience revealed my innate gift for helping others connect with and enhance their voices, sparking my commitment to vocal coaching. From 2015 to 2019, I taught holistic vocal techniques at Pearl Studios in Manhattan, NYC, further developing my unique approach. Additionally, I conducted vocal sound baths and workshops at Wonderland Healing Center in Koh Phangan, Thailand, enriching my holistic teaching practice. These experiences have shaped my current offerings, which I now provide from my home studio in South Portland, Maine.

My Approach

Every session is tailored to your needs and goals, whether you’re seeking to refine your vocal technique, explore sound wellness, or simply find peace in expression. I incorporate guided meditations, visualization, and traditional vocal exercises combined with expansive movement and toning practices. We also work on identifying and addressing chronic thought patterns and emotional or subconscious behaviors that may affect your voice and overall well-being.
